Adoptions
HSNT has found homes for hundreds of thousands of abandoned and abused animals. HSNT places animals into loving adoptive homes each year. Potential adopters are carefully screened and counseled before an adoption is ever approved. We pride ourselves on choosing the quality over quantity when it comes to adoptions. All adopted animals are inoculated against diseases, treated for parasites and altered before going home.
Humane Investigations
Our Humane Investigators are in the field seven days a week investigating reports of abuse and neglect throughout Tarrant, Parker, Johnson, Wise, Denton and surrounding counties. We bring relief -- food, water, and veterinary care. When the owner cannot be educated, our last resort is to legally obtain possession of the animal to prevent further suffering.
Animal Admission
HSNT admits animals from 8-5 seven days a week. When releasing the animal, whether owned or found stray, a signature is required to fully relinquish the animal into our care.
- animals are received only at the 1840 E. Lancaster location
Emergency Rescue (K911)
HSNT is the only local humane agency that attempts to rescue injured animals on a 24-hour basis. Animal Rescue Technicians will make sure an injured animal gets help. The phone number for K911 is (817) 891-5911
Spay & Neuter Program
Preventing the births of unwanted puppies and kittens is one of our most important programs. HSNT requires spaying and neutering of all animals adopted from our shelter. Our Spay/Neuter Assistance Program helps hundreds of pet owners who cannot afford the conventional surgical cost. Our program is available for qualified low-income and senior-citizen pet owners. We will spay/neuter any parent of an animal released to HSNT for free regardless of income.
Volunteer Program
The scope of HSNT's efforts to help animals has always been enhanced by those who give their time, energy and skills to our mission. Our volunteers provide assistance in many areas, including working directly with the animals, rehabilitating and fostering animals, and providing pet services to the poor and elderly. Lost and Found
HSNT reunites lost pets with their owners by checking the lost and found classified ads and pet identifications. Because our shelter is one of the largest in the state, more lost animals are reunited with their families. Lost and Found hours are 12-5pm everyday
