EQUINE RESOURCES

WORKING TOGETHER TO HELP EQUINES IN NEED

Through strong partnerships with the ASPCA Right Horse, the Texas Thoroughbred Association, and community engagement, HSNT is helping owners and their animals in the North Texas area.

If you need assistance with your livestock such as chickens, goats, etc., please visit our Livestock Resource page. For rabbits and other small animals, please visit our Rehoming or Surrendering a Pet page.

REHOME

If you need to surrender your healthy equine for any reason, please contact us. We’ll talk through options to determine the best course of action for you and your animal. Equines are received as space allows and by utilizing collaborative partners and foster homes. As we do not have sanctuary capacity, all equines will be adopted out to approved homes when ready to do so.

KEEP AT HOME

Life can be unpredictable, and we understand that equine owners may face challenges that require temporary feed assistance in caring for their beloved animals. If this describes your current situation, the Humane Society of North Texas (HSNT) may be able to offer resources to help temporarily relieve the pressure.

HOW IT WORKS

Submit Your Request: Equine owners can quickly submit a request for temporary feed assistance, detailing their specific needs.

Connect with our Team: Our Equine team will then evaluate your needs to see if we have any programs that would benefit you.

Receive Resources: Our team will reach out and speak with you to let you know what resources are available to you.

Although not everyone will qualify for financial assistance, our team will be able to provide options and resources for you based on your specific circumstances. This program is specifically designed for short-term needs, providing a quick and effective solution when life throws unexpected challenges your way. Currently, this program is only available for equines (horses and donkeys).
